Jobs Description
We are seeking a Senior Programmer Analyst to work with a team of programmers supporting the Department of Social Services case management system which is built on the technologies of Java, Cúram and Oracle.
Responsibilities
- Accept feature/bug fix assignments within 2 working days excluding days off.
- Work with supervisor on the priority and scheduling of feature/bug fixes on an as needed basis.
- Read and understand feature/bug fix assignments working with the supervisor and business analyst within 2 days of receipt of assignment depending on the availability of the supervisor and business analyst.
- Work with fellow programmers and supervisor on gathering system information concerning feature/bug fix items on an as needed basis as assigned to you.
- Generate design documents after understanding the assignment for feature/bug fixes within 1 workday for simple assignments and 5 workdays for complex assignments and then work with the supervisor to obtain approval.
- Notify the supervisor that assignment of a code branch is needed as soon as needed.
- As soon as possible work with the supervisor to generate a time estimate to program feature/bug fix items and to program unit tests.
- As soon as possible program and run unit tests on feature/bug fixes items.
- Within 1 business day of completing code, arrange to have supervisor to review and approval check in code on feature/bug items fixes.
- Create and deliver appropriate technical documentation to project needs throughout the development process. Have completed documentation done within two weeks of code check in.
- Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the support team by actively participating as a member of the team in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Keep supervisor inform about any concerns and progress of assignments by submitting weekly progress reports and timesheets.
- Communicate development roadblocks to the development team within 24 hours of determination.
- Daily/Weekly Expectations
- Progressing on the SDLC on assigned feature/bug fixes items assigned.
- Deliver weekly progress for development team code review.
- Analyze and correct technical issues as found, providing weekly feature/bug status updates.
- Maintain and communicate status of work performed bi-weekly at minimum.
- Updates tasks in Azure DevOps boards corresponding to work efforts.
- Update information in Service Now on feature/bug fix items.
Qualifications
- Required Experience (5+ years):
- Experience providing programming support on a case management system for a Social Service or Human Services department/agency entity.
- Experience and expert level in Java
- Experience and expert level in Cúram framework
- Experience and expert level in Oracle PL/SQL
- Experience demonstrating professional organization, documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
