Jobs Description
We are seeking a Sr. Technical Writer to collaborate with IT professionals, developers, and other stakeholders to create high-quality content that supports DFW’s products, services, and internal processes. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that technical information is conveyed clearly and effectively to various stakeholders, including IT professionals, end-users, and management.
Responsibilities
- Documentation Development: Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, system specifications, FAQs, and knowledge base articles. Develop IT process documentation and workflows for internal and external use.
- Document Creation: Create and update scopes of work, requests for proposals, request for bids, technical guides, capital funding requests, system documentation, and other technical documents as assigned.
- Research & Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and understand project requirements. Conduct interviews with customers, stakeholders, developers, engineers, and IT teams to ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that technical documents meet all relevant quality standards and that all deliverables meet the expectations of stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement standards, templates, and best practices for technical documentation. Revise existing documentation to align with updates in technology, software, and organizational needs.
- Reporting Documentation: Preparing regular progress reports and other technical documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
- Knowledge Sharing: Support the development of training materials, presentations, and e-learning content. Assist in maintaining document repositories and content management systems (CMS).
Qualifications
- Experience as a technical writer in the IT industry.
- Experience demonstrating strong understanding of IT concepts, including software development, networking, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
- Experience and proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience and proficiency in Adobe Suite.
- Experience and proficiency in Markdown editors.
- Experience and proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g. Confluence, SharePoint).
- Experience and familiarity with Agile development and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience demonstrating Knowledge of common SDLC methodologies.
- Experience demonstrating ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Experience demonstrating excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience demonstrating adaptability to changing priorities and technical challenges.
- Experience demonstrating proactive problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
